Overview<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

As part of the Disseny de la Interacti\u00f3 <\/em>subject at Universitat de Lleida, this project centered on a comprehensive interaction and visual redesign of mGol<\/strong>, the mobile banking application and digital ecosystem of CaixaGuissona<\/strong>. Executed collaboratively in a team of four, the core project audited and overhauled the mobile app experience through a structured UX lifecycle\u2014encompassing heuristic evaluation, competitive benchmarking, guerrilla usability testing, information architecture, wireframing, and interactive prototyping in Figma.

Additionally, to expand the scope and enhance overall digital brand coherence, an individual extension project was conducted to audit and redesign CaixaGuissona\u2019s desktop web portal, applying the same rigorous interaction principles to unify the cross-platform experience.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

The Challenge<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

CaixaGuissona\u2019s digital touchpoints presented significant usability friction and outdated interaction patterns that hindered seamless user navigation:

     - Mobile App Usability Issues:<\/strong> Critical transactional flows (such as requesting card PINs, performing CCC bank transfers, and utilizing bon\u00c0rea Cash for cardless ATM withdrawals) lacked clear feedback, visual hierarchy, and intuitive navigation steps.

     - Lack of User Testing Insights:<\/strong> Understanding real user pain points required empirical validation beyond theoretical design rules, identifying where cognitive overload occurred during standard banking routines.

     - Cross-Platform Inconsistency:<\/strong> The desktop web portal exhibited fragmented layouts, inconsistent branding elements, and suboptimal navigation paths compared to modern e-banking standards.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Our Approach<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

To address these challenges, the project followed an end-to-end user-centered design (UCD) methodology divided into four structured phases:

- Context Analysis & Heuristic Evaluation (P1):<\/strong> Conducted client context research and evaluated the app\u2019s baseline usability using Nielsen\u2019s 10 Usability Heuristics across general navigation and key target tasks (Card PIN Request and CCC Bank Transfer).

     - Competitive Analysis & Guerrilla Testing (P2):<\/strong> Analyzed three competitor mobile banking apps to map industry standards. Conducted guerrilla user testing (incorporating Thinking Aloud<\/em> protocols) on real users performing high-frequency tasks (bon\u00c0rea Cash 20\u20ac withdrawal, PIN request, transfer flow) to collect qualitative and quantitative pain points and define core functional improvements.

     - Information Architecture, Wireframing & Design System (P3):<\/strong> Translated research findings into low-fidelity wireframes, user flows, and a cohesive design style guide. Created high-fidelity UI mockups in Figma ensuring visual harmony, brand consistency, and accessible interface components.

     - Interactive Prototyping & Individual Web Redesign (P4 + Extra):<\/strong> Built a high-fidelity interactive prototype demonstrating end-to-end navigation for mobile users. In parallel, performed an individual heuristic evaluation and low-to-high fidelity redesign (wireframes & mockups) of CaixaGuissona\u2019s desktop web portal to deliver a complete, unified multi-device experience.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

     - Empirically Validated Mobile App Interface:<\/strong> Delivered an intuitive, streamlined mobile app redesign that significantly reduced task completion times and friction points across key banking operations (PIN requests, transfers, bon\u00c0rea Cash).

     - High-Fidelity Interactive Prototype:<\/strong> Produced a fully interactive Figma prototype presented as a comprehensive design proposal, showcasing consistent UI styling, clear micro-interactions, and accessible visual hierarchy.

     - Unified Cross-Platform Strategy:<\/strong> Expanded the project scope with a dedicated web redesign proposal, establishing visual and functional alignment between CaixaGuissona\u2019s mobile app and desktop environment.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n
